What is Noradrenaline for?

Noradrenaline belongs to a class of medications called sympathomimetics acting on alpha and beta receptors. Noradrenaline is used for treating acute hypertension.

How to use it?

Noradrenaline is injected or infused through a needle into a vein as directed by your doctor. Your doctor will advise you on the dosage and frequency depending on your blood pressure.

Acute hypotension
0.4 to 0.8 mg/hr is infused and the dose is increased by 0.05 to 0.1 mcg/kg/min to achieve the target mean arterial blood pressure.
0.05 to 0.1 mcg/kg/min increased up to 2mcg/kg/min to achieve the target mean arterial blood pressure.

What are the side effects of Noradrenaline?

Common side effects of Noradrenaline include bradycardia, arrhythmia, anxiety, temporary headache and dyspnea.

Who should not take Noradrenaline?

People allergic to Noradrenaline or any component of the formulation.
