What is Systane for?
Systane is a type of artificial tear that can lubricate your eyes to relieve burning and irritation due to dry eyes.
How to use it?
Systane can be applied to the eyes as eye drops. Instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) as needed.
Lie down or tilt your head back. With your index finger, pull down the lower lid of your eye. Hold the dropper close to your eye with the other hand, and drop 1 drop into your eyes between your lower lid and eyeball. Gently close your eyes, and apply finger pressure to the inner corner of your eye for 1-2 minutes.
What are the side effects of Systane?
Common side effects of Systane include blurred vision, redness and stinging of eyes.
Who should not take Systane?
People who are allergic to Macrogol 400, Propylene glycol, or any component of the formulation.
– Wash hands before and after use.
– Remove contact lenses prior to administration, and wait 15 minutes before reinserting.
– Separate administration of other ophthalmic agents by at least 5-10 minutes.
– To avoid contamination, do not touch the tip of the tube to the eye or any other surface.
– Avoid driving or other activities requiring clear vision until drug effects are realized as it may cause blurred vision.

Systane can be instilled at any time of a day.
