Mydocalm is a brand medication that contains Tolperisone, which belongs to a class of centrally acting muscle relaxants. It can stabilise the excessive electrical signals in the brain to treat post-stroke spasticity and conditions associated with muscle spasms.
Mydocalm is available as tablets. It should be taken with or after food.
For muscle spasms,
Start with 150mg daily, up to three times daily.
Children 6-14 years of age
Take 2-4mg/kg body weight daily in 3 divided doses
Children 3 months-6 years of age
Take 5mg/kg body weight daily in 3 divided doses.

In Hong Kong, Mydocalm is a prescription only medicine, and requires a prescription from a doctor to be purchased in a pharmacy. It can also be obtained from doctors.
