What is Benzac?

Benzac is a brand product that contains Benzoyl Peroxide, which acts as an antibacterial agent as well as neutralising proteins produced by bacteria and free fatty acids. It is therefore used to treat acne.

How to use it?

Benzac is available as gel or face wash. It is applied directly to the affected area of the skin, or as face wash to prevent acne.

 

For gel, apply 1-2 times a day after cleaning your face with soap and water. For fash wash, wash 1-2 times per day. 

What are the side effects of Benzac?

Common side effects of Benzac are skin sensitivity, dry skin and redness. It can also bleach your hair and clothing.

Who should not take Benzac?

  • Anyone who is allergic to any component of Benzac.

Where to buy Benzac in Hong Kong?

In Hong Kong, Benzac is an over-the-counter medicine and can be purchased without a prescription from any retail outlet in Hong Kong. This includes grocery stores, convenience stores, medicine shops, and pharmacies. It can also be obtained from doctors. To find a pharmacy near you, refer to the list of pharmacies (“Authorized Sellers of Poisons”) from the Hong Kong Department of Health.
