Zestril is a brand medication that contains Lisinopril, which belongs to a class of medications called angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs). ACEIs work by blocking the substances that constrict the blood vessels and hence more blood and oxygen can reach the heart. It is used in hypertension and heart failure.
Zestril is available as tablets.
For high blood pressure,
start with 10 mg once daily. The usual maintenance dose is 20 mg once daily and the maximum daily dose is 80 mg.
For heart failure,
start with 2.5 mg once daily. The dose should be increased gradually up to 10 mg at least every 2 weeks.
Common side effects of Zestril include low blood pressure, dry cough, and high potassium levels.

Take with or without food at the same time each day.
