What is Hydrosil?

Hydrosil is a brand medication that contains Aluminium Hydroxide, Magnesium Hydroxide and Simethicone. Aluminium Hydroxide and Magnesium Hydroxide together work as antacid to neutralise acid in the stomach, and Simeticone works by preventing foaming due to excessive acid. It is therefore used in the treatment of heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

How to use it?

Hydrosil is available as chewable tablets. 

 

For heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), chew 2–4 tablets when required, usually in–between meals and before bed on an empty stomach.

What are the side effects of Hydrosil?

Common side effects of Hydrosil include stomach irritation. It will go away usually after a few hours of taking Hydrosil.

Who should not take Hydrosil?

  • Anyone who is allergic to any component of Hydrosil.

Where to buy Hydrosil in Hong Kong?

In Hong Kong, Hydrosil is an over–the–counter medicine and can be purchased without a prescription from any retail outlet in Hong Kong. This includes grocery stores, convenience stores, medicine shops, and pharmacies. It can also be obtained from doctors. To find a pharmacy near you, refer to the list of pharmacies (“Authorized Sellers of Poisons”) from the Hong Kong Department of Health.
