Dequadin is a brand medication that contains Dequalinium Chloride, and is commonly found as an active ingredient in lozenges to provide relief from sore throats. It has an antibacterial property to kill bacteria that cause minor infections of the mouth and throat. The action of sucking a lozenge allows the active ingredients to work in the area of discomfort and also lubricate and soothe pain. This alleviates the pain and discomfort of mouth and throat infections.
Dequadin is available as lozenges. It can be used in children over 6 years. For sore throat, suck one lozenge every 2-3 hours or as required. Do not take more than 8 lozenges daily.
Allow the lozenge to dissolve slowly and completely. This may take 15 to 30 minutes. Do not eat or drink immediately after.
Dequadin is generally very safe and does not cause any side effects. Otherwise, if you are taking large amounts of Dequadin, it may cause stomach discomfort.
