What is Crotamiton for?

Crotamiton belongs to a class of medication called scabicides. It is a type of antipruritics to treat scabies and skin pruritus.

How to use it?

Crotamiton is applied on skin as cream. 

For treating scabies
Apply a thin layer onto the skin of the entire body from the neck to the toes. Repeat application after 24 hours, and take a cleansing bath 48 hours after the final application.

For treating skin pruritus
Massage into affected areas until medication is completely absorbed. You may repeat as necessary.

What are the side effects of Crotamiton?

Common side effects of Crotamition include skin rash and skin irritation.

People who are allergic to Crotamiton or any component of the formulation

– Wash hands before and after using.
– Do not apply to the face, eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes.

For treating scabies:
– Make sure to apply onto the skin of the entire body, with special attention to skin folds, creases, and interdigital spaces.
– Contaminated clothing and bed linens should be washed on hot cycle or dry-cleaned the next morning after the last application.
