Cloderm is a brand medication that contains Betamethasone, which belongs to a class of medications called steroids. It works by reducing inflammation and is useful in the case of severe inflammatory skin conditions, including scalp psoriasis.
Cloderm is available as a cream, ointment, or topical solution. Clean and dry the affected skin well before use, and wash hands before and after each application.
For corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses,
Apply a thin layer twice daily and gently massage into skin for up to 2 weeks. Maximum dose is 50g or 50ml per week.
For moderate to severe scalp psoriasis:
Topical solution
Apply a thin layer twice daily for up to 2 weeks. Maximum dose is 50g or 50ml per week.
Common side effects of Cloderm include skin irritation, stinging, dryness and burning sensation. Prolonged use may cause skin thinning.
