What is Azoren?

Azoren is a brand product that contains Olmesartan and Amlodipine, which belong to the class of calcium channel blockers and angiotensin II receptor blockers. They work in combination to further relax the smooth muscles in blood vessels to reduce blood pressure. It is therefore used in high blood pressure, in which treatment of Olmesartan or Amlodipine alone cannot control the blood pressure adequately.

How to use it?

Azoren is available as tablets. Take with or without food.


For high blood pressure, the starting dose is 20mg/5mg once daily. It may go up to 40mg/5mg once daily at intervals of 1-2 weeks depending on the response. The maximum daily dose is 40mg/10mg.

What are the side effects of Azoren?

Common side effects of Azoren include diarrheadizzinessheadache, coughing, low blood pressure, swelling in the arms and legs, and postural hypotension.

Who should not take Azoren?

  • People with an allergy to Azoren or any formulation ingredient.
  • Patients who are currently on Aliskiren
  • Patients with cardiogenic shock or acute attacks of angina
  • Pregnant women

  • Avoid vigorous activities after taking this medication.
  • Do not drink alcohol while you are on this medication.
